JELA BACOVIC NEW CHIEF OF EU ACCESSION OFFICE

BELGRADE, Aug 17 (Beta)-The new chief of the Serbia-Montenegro Office for Accession to the European Union is Jela Bacovic.

Bacovic was named at the Aug. 17 session of the Council of Ministers, after having been the assistant Serbia-Montenegro minister for international economic relations in the International Economic Organizations and Multilateral Economic Cooperation Sector.

The Council of Ministers accepted the resignation of Milica Delevic Djilas from the post of director of the EU Accession Office and relieved her of her duties, it says in the press release from the session.

In a letter to state union president Svetozar Marovic, Delevic Djilas said her move was prompted by a lack of political agreement between political parties on what path to take to the EU, and what the country is prepared to do in order to achieve this.
