CVETKOVIC EXPECTS ESTONIA'S SUPPORT IN THE UN

BELGRADE, Oct 6 (Tanjug) - Serbian Premier Mirko Cvetkovic told Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet that he expects that country to support Serbia's initiative in the UN General Assembly linked to the initiative for an advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) about the legality of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo and Metohija. Cvetkovic stated that he also expects Estonia's backing for Serbia's further accession to the European Union, since Serbia has clearly demonstrated its commitment to european integrations and its respect of the international law, the Serbian government said. Estonian Foreign Minister Paet set out that, by ratifying the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with the EU, Serbia has sent a clear signal to Brussels. Peat added that he believes that next year Serbia will get EU candidate status and that Estonia supports the liberalization of the visa regime and the placing of Serbia on the white Schengen list. Cvetkovic and Paet backed the continuation of economic cooperation and announced the speedy signing of an agreement on double tax avoidance between Serbia and Estonia.
